What shall we say about the light?
The cat sees in the dark
without a flashlight, the glow-worm
can be seen, without neon
We climb out of the darkness into the light
as in the beautiful old song
That Nordic light
that we wander in and out of,
that soft gloomy darkness
provided by mossy pine forests,
those glimmering glades
among groves of birches -all this
with its light and darkness
has colored our senses
What more can we say about the light
that grows from within, that is created,
that is believed?
And deep down in the darkness
at the bottom of a glacial lake
a Triglopsis quadricornis noses around
searching for its utopia
among stones and silt
In the rain's high pine
a blackbird is perched,
charges by the batteries of July light
while we others, we
descenders of shoe-wearing creatures
wander pine forest paths
back and forth
while we wonder:
What should we say about the light?
An open question, the light
stands free, like a glistening
rain wet scarecrow
out in the newly harvested fields of oats

Get ready for a new day
think about love a moment
Know that the road ends
at the same place
as it once began
Stand still
waiting for the rain,
look for a circle in the grass
where we once stood
Cup your hand over
that spot, as for protection
Think about love, know
that rain will soon start
to fall; open hand

光について何と言おう
猫は闇でも見える
フラッシュなくとも、ホタルは
見える、ネオンなくとも
我々は暗闇から昇り光へ入る
美しい古歌のように
出たり入ったり彷徨った
あの北欧の光
苔で覆われた松で隔てられた
柔らかで陰鬱な暗さ
樺の森に
微かに光る湿地―これらすべて
それの光そして闇
わたしたちの意識を彩る
もっと光についていえること
内へと育ちゆき、創りあげられるもの
信じていただけるだろうか。
暗闇に深く降りていくと
氷の湖の底がある
岩石や泥土から
桃源郷を嗅ぎ探していた
トリグロプシスの鼻が見つかった
雨のなかの背高い松の木に
つぐみがとまっていた
七月の光の充電を受け
ときにわれわれも他のものも
くたびれ靴の生き物の後輩も
松林を逍遥し
行きつ戻りつ
ときに思う
光について何という？
答えのない問い、光
自由にあり、ぎらりと
新しい麦の実り畑に
雨がかかしを濡らす

新たな日へ準備せよ
束の間の愛に思いを馳せよ
道は再開できる
同じ場所には
終わらないことを知れ
静かに在れ
雨を待ちながら
草のなかの円を見よ
そこはかつて在ったところ
きみの手をその場所に
伸べよ、守るために
愛について思いを馳せよ
雨はすぐに降る；手を空けておけ

Bengt Berg
Born (1946) and raised in Torsby, Sweden, in the forest and lake province of Värmland, near the Norwegian border and the 60th parallel, where he also lives and works. Since 1990 Bengt Berg has operated the publishing house Heidruns Förlag, which has published 135 works - novels, books of poetry and art, translations of other works and reference books. He also owns Heidruns Book and Art Café in his hometown, which provides art exhibitions, cultural programs, etc.
Bengt Berg made his debut in 1974 with the poetry collection "Where the Dream Ends", and has written more than 30 books, mostly poetry. Poems by Bengt Berg have been translated into Nordic languages as well as Arabian, Hebrew, English, German, Dutch, Greek, Romanian, Spanish, Turkish, Slovakian, Polish, Russian, Latvian, Vietnamese, Hindi, and Japanese.
A book is about India, called "I Indialand", a trevale/poetrybook (together with an Indian Photographer: Madhu Kapparat)

スウェーデン、トルスビーに生まれ育つ（１９４６年）ノルウェー国境近くのバームランド地方の森と湖で緯度６０度の場所で仕事をする。１９９０年からベン・ベールはHeidruns Förlagという出版社を運営し１３５冊を出版。詩・小説、詩、翻訳その他の本である。また故郷でハイドルン本と芸術カフェをおこない、展示や文化プログラムを行っている。
ベン・ベールは１９７４年詩集「夢果つる処(Where the Dream Ends)」でデビューをし、詩を主として３０冊以上の著作がある。ベン・ベールの詩はアラブア語、ヘブライ語、英語、ドイツ語、オランダ語、ギリシャ語、ルーマニア語、スペイン語、トルコ語、スロバキア語、ポーランド語、ロシア語、ラトビア語、ベトナム語、ヒンドゥー語、日本語および北欧諸国の言語に訳されている。インドについての本は「僕のインド」と呼ばれ、インド写真家マドゥー・カッパラートの写真とともに制作した詩集である。

詩人、エッセイスト、翻訳家。１９５２年京都生れ。立命館大学文学部卒業。日本国際詩人協会代表。国際詩誌「詩の架け橋：天橋」編集主幹。翻訳: 国内外の現代詩人作品を翻訳。JUNPA BOOKS シリーズを手がける。『御名を唱えて』（原著 Gabriel Rosenstockの"Uttering Her Name")は２０１２年アイルランド文学交流協会より翻訳出版賞を受賞。『弾丸シュート』（原著Odveig Klyve の"Bullistic"は２０１９年ノルウェー文学普及協会（ＮＯＲＬＡ）より翻訳助成を下付される。
主な著書：『心薫る女』『夢紡ぐ女』『光織る女』『愛装ふ女』『地抱く男』（いずれも竹林館）２０１０年第４９回ストルーガ詩祭（ストルーガ、マケドニア）、２０１１年ヤン・スムレク国際文学祭（ブラティスラヴァ。スロバキア）、２０１５年コモ詩祭―Europa in Versi―（コモ、イタリア）、２０１５年ミハイ・エミネスク国際詩祭（クラヨバ、ルーマニア）、２０１９年プリマ・ヴィスタ国際文学祭に招待参加。
