Steven Grieco-Rathgeb

Steven Grieco-Rathgeb, is a multilingual American-Swiss-Italian poet and translator. He writes in English and Italian.

Is co-editor of L'Ombra delle Parole, an International litmag based in Rome.

Contributes poems and critical essays to Indian and Italian reviews.

Maschere d'oro, 33 poesie italiane, was published by Biblioteca Cominiana in 1997.

Entrò in una Perla (He entered a Pearl), a collection of his English poems with Italian translation, appeared in September 2016 in Roberto Bertoldo's "Hebenon" Foreign Poets Series, Edizioni Mimesis, Milan and Udine.

In tandem with a Japanese scholar based in Tokyo, has translated Heian waka into English and Italian. Selections of this work have appeared in Openspace India, and in L'Ombra delle Parole.

Translator, teacher of italian as a foreign language, researcher on Japanese poetry. Phd. degree in Japanese poetry (Phd. dissertation on the relationship between Masaoka Shiki's haiku and Buson's ). Studied Japanese for 3 years at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies with a scholarship provided by the Japanese Government. Visiting Associate Professor at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies from 2007 to 2011. Member of the committee of editors for the italian- japanese dictionary Dizionario Shogakukan (Shōgakukan) in 2008 and member of the committee of editors for the italian-japanese dictionary Primo (Hakusuisha) in 2011. Teaches italian at italian language school 'Torre di Babele' and at Vatican University preparatory school in Rome.

ローマLa Sapienza (ラ・サピエンツァ)大学文哲学部東洋研究学科卒。正岡子規をテーマとした論文で同学部最高点取得。その後、日本文部科学省からの奨学金を得て、3年間の留学。正岡子規、蕪村、芭蕉の研究を続け、母校ラ・サピエンツァ大学において、博士論文を発表。2007年からの4年間、東京外国語大学イタリア語学科准教授を勤める傍ら、東洋専門雑誌への論文投稿のため、母国イタリアの詩人と日本の俳句について研究。2008年、小学館、伊和中辞典 (第2編)、2011年、白水社プリーモ伊和中辞典の編集等にも従事。現在、ヴァチカン大学附属校にてイタリア語教師を勤める

Poet, essayist, translator. Born in Kyoto (1952), Graduated from Ristumeikan University. Representative of Japan Universal Poets Association, Chief-in-editors of online international journal "Poetic-Bridge: Ama-Hashi".

Main publication: "Kokoro Kaoru Hito"," Yume Tsumugu Hito"," Hikari Oru Hito", "Ai Matou Hito"," Tsuchi daku Masurao".(Chikurinkan) She was invited to several international poetry readings such as the 49th Struga Poetry Readings in 2011, Jan Smrek International Literary Festival in 2012. "Europa in Versi"(Como, Italy) in 2015. Mihai Eminesuc International Poetry Festival (Craiova, Romania) in 2015.

Award: "Mina wo Tonaete" ("Uttering Her Name" by Gabriel Rosenstock) won the Translated Irish Literature Award by Ireland Literature Exchange in 2012. Milos Crnjanski Prize in International Literature Festival-Wien 2017, Naji Naaman Literary Prize (Honour) 2018

詩人、エッセイスト、翻訳家。1952年京都生れ。立命館大学文学部卒業。日本国際詩人協会代表。国際詩誌「詩の架け橋:天橋」編集主幹。翻訳: 国内外の現代詩人作品を翻訳。JUNPA BOOKS シリーズを手がける。『御名を唱えて』(原著 Gabriel Rosenstockの"Uttering Her Name")は2012年アイルランド文学交流協会より翻訳出版賞を受賞。『弾丸シュート』(原著Odveig Klyve の"Bullistic"は2019年ノルウェー文学普及協会(NORLA)より翻訳助成を下付される。

主な著書:『心薫る女』『夢紡ぐ女』『光織る女』『愛装ふ女』『地抱く男』(いずれも竹林館)2010年第49回ストルーガ詩祭(ストルーガ、マケドニア)、2011年ヤン・スムレク国際文学祭(ブラティスラヴァ。スロバキア)、2015年コモ詩祭―Europa in Versi―(コモ、イタリア)、2015年ミハイ・エミネスク国際詩祭(クラヨバ、ルーマニア)、2019年プリマ・ヴィスタ国際文学祭に招待参加。
