星降る夜を描くために
私は、自分の作品に心と魂を込める。そして制作過程では我を失う。

わたしのアートのたびは永く
その道のりははるかに遠い
満月の光がさしたとき 川辺に出て
宇宙の銀河を超えて
数々の星に 魂のあとを 残してきた
本当のわたしに戻る旅は
一番遠い 旅なのだ
夜空の色をだすために
何度も繰り返し 色を作り出す
わたしはひとつひとつ 色をキャンパスに重ね
一番最後に わたしの色を見つける
あらゆる 色の世界をさまよい 最期に
わたしの奥の色がある ユートピアにつく
わたしの声は 遠いはるかに 夜空に響いた
「やっとあなたに会えた！」
「どこに あなたはいるの？」
という問いかけは涙のように 幾年の川の流れとなり
「ここにわたしがいる」という 答えの海となり
アートの世界へと 突入していく

To Paint a Starry Night
I put my heart and my soul into my work,
and have lost my mind in the process.

The journey of my art is long;
That path is far away.
When the light of the full moon shone, I went out to the riverside,
Beyond the galaxies of the universe;
I have left behind traces of my soul in various stars.
The journey that returns to the real me
Is the longest journey.
To bring out the color of the night sky,
I mix colors over and over.
One by one, I layer colors on canvas
At the very last, I discover my color
Wandering about the world of all colors, in the end
I reach the utopia where the color deep within me exists
My voice echoed distantly in the night sky:
"At last I met you!"
The question, "Where are you?"
Like tears, becomes the current of a river of years
It becomes the sea of the answer, "I am here!"
I am entering the world of art.
Maki Starfield was born in Ehime, 1972. She earned her Master of Arts from Sophia University, and then got the diploma of International business management (post graduate)with Honors from Niagara College and the certificate of TESOL from St.George International College in Canada. She began to make haiku in 2008, where she became recipient of a prize at the 12th annual Mainichi Haiku Contest. On February of 2012, she published a new collection, Kiss the Dragon.
She has recently been performing as a painter as well as a poet. She participated in Design Festa Vol.40 in Tokyo Big Site in 2014 and recently contemporary art exhibitions. She won a prize at the contemporary art (kindaibijutsu) association's public recruitment exhibition in 2017, and was awarded twice (spring and autumn competition) in 2018, and she also got the honorable prize, Dojinsho at the 44th and 45th Taiyo Bijutsu Exhibition in 2018 and 2019, and got a prize at the Ueno Royal museum and has been awarded at the 2020 Salon of Artistes Français. She is a member of Japan Universal Poets Association. She is also a regular member of Sokyu, Sawa and Evergreen in Japanese haiku associates.

３行詩人、俳人、翻訳家。２００８年のときより俳句を独学で学び始める。上智大学大学院英米文学修士課程卒業およびカナダのナイアガラ大学国際ビジネス科大学院コース修了。２０１２年夏にはカナダのSt. George International CollegeでTESOLを取得。２０１１年夏にカナダから一時帰国し、アメリカの出版会社から出版デビュー。２０１２年２月に新句集『キス・ザ・ドラゴン』を自費出版でネット刊行。２０１２年６月、トロントのアートバーで季語にとらわれない新スタイル、３行詩を発表。現在日本に帰国し、独自の朗読会や３行ワークショップなどを行う。最近はイラスト画や絵画を描き始め、２０１４年デザインフェスタＶｏｌ．４０（東京ビックサイト）に出展、２０１７年近代美術協会の春と秋の公募展に入選、２０１８年同協会の春・秋の公募展で奨励賞ダブル入選、同年第４４回太陽美術展同人賞（同画集掲載）を受賞、２０１９年上野の森美術館 第３２回日本の自然を描く展入選、同年第４５回太陽美術展同人賞（同画集掲載）を受賞、２０２０年ル・サロン（フランス）に初入選した。
