en la indefensa humedad
de su cuerpo
que sin tregua se retuerce
desnudo, seguro
sin límites.
I open my lips
kneeling before
the helpless humidity
of her body
ceaselessly contorting
naked, confident
boundless.

Luis Marcelo Perez was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on November 28, 1971.
His work has been published in Paraguay, Chile, Spain, Colombia, Cuba, Italy and Uruguay and has been translated to English, Italian and Portuguese. Renowned Latin American writers Ruben Bareiro Saguier, Volodia Teitelboim, Jaime Quezada, Roberto Burgos Cantor, Carlos German Belli, Miguel Barnet and Mario Benedetti have praised his work.
His published work includes "Sensaciones" (poetry, 1995), "Virginal" (poetry, 1996), "Mujer, Sociedad y Politica" (essay, 1996), "Silencios" (poetry, 1999), "La Poesia en Nuestro Tiempo" (essay, 2001), "Imaginacion y Palabra" (essay, 2003), Neruda, el Vigia en Una Isla (essay, 2004), "Poesia en Estado Natural" (poetry, 2005), "Elefantes al Discubierto" (narrative, 2013).
He was declared a "Distinguished Guest" by the City of Asuncion, Paraguay" in 2012 and by the Province of Caaguazu, Paraguay in 2013. Additionally, he was admitted into the exclusive circle, "Legion de Libro", by the Camara Uruguaya del Libro for his ardent work.
