Haiku in English - II (trans. by Živilė Symeonidis)

Hangs up laundry.

August stars

Peek through children's shirt.

Pillow is on the ground.

Perhaps I was dreaming of current bushes -

in Ukmergė orchard - red, juicy.

A pear in your hand

knows nothing about the pond's waters

that watered it.

Childhood swings.

Pancakes with apples, midday nap.

Which room is this all in?

I unlock the door.

Pitch dark in the orchard.

The grasshopper remained in summer.

Christmas is coming -

And I still linger

at the childhood's Easter egg.

Open Bible.

Cat's paw strokes

grandma Genute's knitting.

Moon's flashlight

follows a mouse lost in the garden.

October already.

Things have names.

Do I need to know them?

All?

I woke up but I am still travelling

down the maze of the night

together with a homeless fox.
