Mircea Petean(Romania)

Faces

***

sealed night-

some other scrawny bards recite poems

that are on the decline

in tea houses of yore

all like an advertisement the moraning reigns over the market-place

***

fully absent-minded is the venerable Poet Laureate

at the head of the deserted table

in the half full of the beaters' uproar

bards after bards on the ways of

the Romanian homeland, the heroes' country

***

the silence of the beaters comes to an end

about the educational trough

rockets with a middle range of action have been put

in the jungle of the comments

for the time being they initiate the replacing of the teeth

In the mouth of the young commentators-

Chances have this been made

***
