I said to my daughter
And started asking questions.
"What's your name baby?"
"Richa" she hesitated, "Richa Thakker"
"Whose pet are you?"
"Mama .... Thakker"
"Who's your horsey?"
"Papa .... Thakker"
Tring... Tring ....
Enter a bicycle laden with laundry
"Washerman!" Daughter's face lit up
"Washerman .... Thakker!"
A bird for who a grain is granary
Was surfing the winds
Daughter tweeted "Birdie .... Thakker!"
Dear daughter, you have taught me

家族って何かを"
娘に言った
そして質問に答え始めた
「きみの名前はなんだ、可愛い子ちゃん」
「リーシャよ」と恥しそうに言った「リーシャ・タッカー」
「きみは誰のペットかな」
「ママ・・・タッカー」
「きみの馬は誰だ」
「パパ・・・タッカー」
チリン・・・チリン・・・
洗濯物いっぱい積んだ自転車が入ってくる
「洗いやさん！」娘の顔が輝いた
「洗いやサン・・・タッカー！」
穀倉の一粒である鳥は
風のままにゆく
娘が チッチッチッと言う「鳥さん・・・たっかー！」
愛する娘よ、きみが僕に教えてくれた
家族とは何かを

Udayan Thakker (India)
Udayan Thakker is an Indian Poet writing in Gujarati. His volumes of poetry have won awards of the Gujarati Literary Academy and one of them was prescribed as a textbook by SNDT University, Mumbai. Translations of his poems have appeared in anthologies published by Universities as also the Sahitya Akademi of India, and 'Poetry' (Chicago.) He has given more than two dozen programs of poetry recitation in U. S. A., Antwerp, London, Kenya, Dubai, Muscat, and Lisbon, besides several hundred more in various places in India. He writes a weekly column on world poetry in an Indian newspaper. He is an Honorary Member of the Central Committee, Gujarati Literary Parishad and a Trustee in two schools. ウダヤン・タッカーはグジャラート語で書くインドの詩人。詩集はグジャラート文学賞を受賞し、ムンバイのＳＮＤＴ大学により教科書となっている。作品の翻訳はインドのサチヤアカデミーおよびシカゴの「Poetry」のアンソロジー詩集に収められている。彼は詩朗読を多く行っておる、アメリカ、アントワープ、ロンドン、ケニア、ドバイ、マスカット、およびリスボンのほかインド国内では数百回行っている。インドの新聞に世界詩潮について毎週コラムを書いている。パリシャドグジャラート文学中央委員会名誉会員および二つの大学で理事を務める。「Poetryindia」の主宰者である。

Poet, essayist, translator. Born in Kyoto (1952), Graduated from Ristumeikan University. Representative of Japan Universal Poets Association, Chief-in-editors of online international journal "Poetic-Bridge: Ama-Hashi".

Award: "Mina wo Tonaete" ("Uttering Her Name" by Gabriel Rosenstock) won the Translated Irish Literature Award by Ireland Literature Exchange in 2012. Milos Crnjanski Prize in International Literature Festival-Wien 2017, Naji Naaman Literary Prize (Honour) 2018

詩人、エッセイスト、翻訳家。１９５２年京都生れ。立命館大学文学部卒業。日本国際詩人協会代表。国際詩誌「詩の架け橋：天橋」編集主幹。翻訳: 国内外の現代詩人作品を翻訳。JUNPA BOOKS シリーズを手がける。『御名を唱えて』（原著 Gabriel Rosenstockの"Uttering Her Name")は２０１２年アイルランド文学交流協会より翻訳出版賞を受賞。『弾丸シュート』（原著Odveig Klyve の"Bullistic"は２０１９年ノルウェー文学普及協会（ＮＯＲＬＡ）より翻訳助成を下付される。
主な著書：『心薫る女』『夢紡ぐ女』『光織る女』『愛装ふ女』『地抱く男』（いずれも竹林館）２０１０年第４９回ストルーガ詩祭（ストルーガ、マケドニア）、２０１１年ヤン・スムレク国際文学祭（ブラティスラヴァ。スロバキア）、２０１５年コモ詩祭―Europa in Versi―（コモ、イタリア）、２０１５年ミハイ・エミネスク国際詩祭（クラヨバ、ルーマニア）、２０１９年プリマ・ヴィスタ国際文学祭（エストニア）に招待参加。
受賞歴：２０１７年セルビア、パンノニアン・ゲレブ詩祭出版賞を受賞。２０１８年オーストリア・ウィーン国際文学祭ミロシュ・ツルニャンスキー賞、ナジ・ナーマン文学賞（名誉賞）他受賞。
