Submarine piano

                                 Tetsuji Inoue

Sounds died

From that piano

Now it stands

on seabed

Leans slightly

White keyboard

Shines dimly

Only engine sound reverberated

from submergence vehicle

This area was a fishery area, 

but after tragedy of Tsunami...

Scrapped cars are stuck at random

The time has stopped

Since that time

Silence occupies all around

I only hope now

The piano to perform Requiem

For healing souls of tens of thousands victims

Resting on the gloomy seabed 

Living people need not to listen to that

Oh, Mother sea

Let the piano sound again beautiful sound 

海底のピアノ　　 ～東日本大震災によせて

　　　　　　井上哲士

あのピアノから

音は消えた

今はもう

海の底

傾いて横たわる

ほの白い鍵盤が

にぶく光る

海底探索の船の

エンジン音ばかりが響く

いまだ澄むことのない

漁場だった海中に

自動車が沈み

時計は止まって

どろから頭を見せている

海底の沈黙

今はただ願う

わずかに射す光のなかで

眠り続ける幾万のたましいたちに

鎮魂の音のしらべを

どうか弾いてやって欲しい

残された人間には

聞こえなくてもいい

あの　海底のピアノから

再び歌を響かせてくれ

母なる海よ
